Current Projects
For Granted is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and their communities throughout the world. We work closely with the recipient communities to learn about their needs and develop our programs. The majority of our efforts focus on improving childhood education. Education is crucial for children to be successful in school. In developing countries, an alarming number of children are unable to complete their education. They are often forced to drop out of school or are ill-prepared for their qualifying exams. This is in large part due to limited or nonexistent education programs. This lack of access to education severely hinders children's opportunities for success in school. Education programs strengthen the language and cognitive skills that are essential for children to excel.
For Granted takes a holistic approach to sustainable development and accompanies its educational efforts with other needs based development programs. These include programs targeting health needs, economic opportunity, and empowerment to improve the lives of children and their communities. Past Projects
Since its conception, For Granted has taken on and completed a number of projects that increased opportunities for disadvantaged children and their communities. Starting with the Outer Island Educational Program in Kiribati, the number of For Granted projects has grown and expanded to various communities around the world. Past projects have been carried out in the Pacific, as well as countries in Asia and Africa; and even domestic projects based in the states. Although these projects have varied in scope, the overall mission of For Granted's projects has remained the same - to improve the livelihood of children and their communities worldwide.
Partnership Projects
For Granted's educational efforts are accompanied by other needs based development programs. These include programs targeting vital health needs, economic opportunity, and community mobilization to improve the lives of children and their communities. In an effort to accomplish this, For Granted has expanded our programmatic efforts by introducing FG Partnership Programs. The FG Partnership Programs allow For Granted to support individuals or organizations that have created their own projects aimed at improving the development of children and their communities in underserved areas of the world. The FG Partnership Programs give other individuals and organizations the opportunity to receive fund-raising and other assistance to execute successful holistic projects. For Granted currently has FG Partnership Program projects in Benin, Kenya, and India.
